Sealing hard flooring is a process where a special protective coating is applied to floor surfaces to preserve their durability, prevent soiling and extend their life. This coating forms a protective layer that prevents moisture, grease and other contaminants from penetrating the pores of the flooring while making it easier to clean. The sealing process is especially important for porous flooring such as marble, granite, concrete and terracotta, which can easily absorb liquids and wear away over time. Sealing creates a barrier that protects against stains, color fading and other damage caused by regular use. In addition, sealing gives floors a smooth and shiny surface that is easier to maintain and clean.

Surface preparation: the first step is to carefully clean the flooring of dirt, dust, grease and other debris. This is extremely important as any contamination can prevent the sealing product from adhering properly. For this, suitable cleaning agents and machines that do not damage the surface are used.
Removal of old seals (if necessary): If the flooring has already been sealed some time ago, the old sealing should be removed to ensure the most effective new coating. This is done by using specialised agents to remove the old coating and/or sanding the floor.
Applying the sealer: When the surface is completely clean and dry, apply the protective sealer. This can be a liquid or a gel, depending on the type of flooring and the manufacturer’s recommendations. The coating is applied evenly to the floor using a roller, brush or special application machine, allowing it to dry between coats.
Applying a second or third coat: Depending on the product requirements and the condition of the floor, several coats of sealer may need to be applied. Each coat must be completely dry before applying the next.
Allowing to dry: Once the final coat has been applied, the flooring must be allowed to dry completely. Drying times may vary depending on the type of sealing product and environmental conditions (temperature and humidity).
Finish polish (optional): for additional shine and smoothness, the floor can be polished after the sealer has completely dried.
